Icom's next generation VHF with built in class D DSC and GPS. The IC-M423GE features the innovative new user interface which makes operation of the VHF incredibly simple. It also has the latest design, white backlit LCD screen. The compact size will fit easily into any console and can be flush or surface mounted. 10w audio output from an optional external speaker as well as hailer and horn functions which can also be controlled from the HM-195 Commandmic IV (sold separately).
New Model IC-M423GE with Built-in GPS Receiver
The built-in GPS receiver shows your current position and time and is also used for DSC calls. The GPS data source is selectable from either the built in receiver or from an optional external GPS (GPSOFF menu setting) via the NMEA 0183 input cables. GPS and DSC data can also be transmitted via the NMEA 0183 output cable to other equipment such as plotters and navigation software.
New Marine Family Common User Interface
The IC-M423 has an easy to use interface that will be incorporated into future Icom radios. The new menu system provides easy and intuitive operation. The bottom line of the dot-matrix display shows the software key functions which can be toggled with the left and right buttons. The directional keypad allows you to perform various operations and settings. The high contrast white backlit LCD and laser-cut keypad match well with modern boat designs.
Active Noise Cancelling Technology
The built-in bidirectional active noise cancelling reduces background noise to up to 90% and improves both your transmitted voice and incoming call. Hear and be heard more clearly especially in noisy surroundings.
10W Loud Audio, Hailer and Horn
The IC-M423GE has a built-in 10W amplifier that increases the audio output up to 10w. If we add an optional external speaker we can use the public address function and horn features which allows you to make an announcement from the microphone or sound the horn.
Optional Matching White Backlight Commandmic IV HM-195GB/GW
The optional Commandmic IV makes it convenient for using the IC-M423GE from the cockpit or flybridge and allows all functions of the IC-M423G to be controlled from the Commandmic which can also be used as an intercom with the IC-M423GE.
Built-in Class D DSC
The built-in DSC watch function monitors Ch. 70 (DSC channel) activity, even while you are receiving another channel. DSC functions include: distress, individual, group, all ships, urgency, safety, position request/report, polling request and DSC test calls.
Common NMEA GPS/NAV Interface
Current position and time are shown on the IC-M423's display. When receiving position information from another vessel, the IC-M423GE can transfer it to a navigational device via NMEA 0183 connectivity.
AIS Target Call with the Optional MA-500T
When connected to the Icom’s MA-500TR Class B AIS Transponder, the AIS Target call function allows you to transmit DSC individual calls to a selected vessel instantly without manual MMSI entry saving valuable time in case of an emergency or possible collision
