Successor to the popular M506 EURO, the ICOM IC-M506GE now adds built-in GPS. An elegant yet rugged waterproof IPX8 (1m depth of water for 60 minutes) design for both demanding sailors and professional mariners.
Integrated AIS Receiver
The IC-M506GE displays real-time AIS vessel traffic information directly on the VHF screen. It can also output this information for display on plotters and other compatible equipment. The AIS target call function allows you to easily start a DSC call and the toggle menu function quickly switches between the Plotter screen, Target list screen and Danger list
NMEA 2000™ & NMEA0183 Connectivity Built-in
The IC-M506EURO has a rear NMEA 2000 socket for a easy connection to a NMEA 2000 network. It also features NMEA 0183 data connection cables which allow connection to a GPS receiver. The M506 can convert GPS (position, course (COG) and speed (SOG)), AIS report and DSC call information data as well as transmit radio frequency and PGN list data. This data can then be transmitted to the NMEA 2000 network for use on other equipment.
Last Call Voice Recording
The last call voice recording function automatically saves the last two minutes of the last incoming call. You can then re¬play the received call. A great feature for copying coordinates, weather reports and and other important information.
Active Noise Cancelling Technology
The built-in bidirectional active noise cancelling reduces background noise to up to 90% and improves both your transmitted voice and incoming call. Hear and be heard more clearly especially in noisy surroundings.
25W Audio, Hailer, Manual & Automatic Foghorn
The IC-M506GE has a built-in 25w amplifier that increases the audio output up to 25w. If we add an optional external speaker/hailer we can use the public address function to make an announcement from the microphone to crew on deck or to shore. The Hailer function also allows monitoring of radio calls from anywhere on deck. the Foghorn feature also uses the external Hailer horn. Four horn patterns are selectable for the automatic horn function.
Intuitive Menu-Driven User Interface
The intuitive software key functions provide easy and fast operation to control the multiple functions of the IC-M506GE. The bottom line of the dot-matrix display shows the software key functions which can be toggled with the left and right buttons.
Optional Commandmic IV HM-195B/SW
The optional Commandmic IV makes it convenient for using the IC-M506GE from the cockpit or flybridge and allows most functions of the IC-M506GE to be controlled from the Commandmic which can also be used as an intercom with the IC-M506GE.
Built-in GPS Receiver
A built-in GPS receiver with external antenna provides your location, bearing and speed by using information from GPS and GLONASS. The acquired position information can be used for DSC calls.
Built-in Class D DSC
The built-in DSC watch function monitors Ch. 70 (DSC channel) activity, even while you are receiving another channel. DSC functions include: distress, individual, group, all ships, urgency, safety, position request/report, polling request and DSC test calls.
