Seldén High Load 2:1 Purchase Halyard Block
High strength 2:1 purchase halyard block with aluminium side plates and break load up to 8000 kg.
When using a Code Zero sail on a continuous line furler a tight halyard will give maximum luff tension and therefore maximum performance when sailing closer to the wind. A 2:1 purchase block achieves almost double the tension available with a standard halyard and at the same time reduces the forces imposed on all the mast fittings and reduces stretch in the halyard. The halyard for the 2:1 block is fixed to the masthead or dead end of the halyard in the mast and run through the 2:1 block attached to the halyard swivel. Also suitable for main halyards. The pin is captive avoiding accidental loss overboard.
