Echomax Active Rader Target Enhancer
With radar and AIS we can see most vessels in our vicinity. However, not all vessels have AIS and on sailboats with a limited radar reflection, we can never be sure another vessel has detected us on their radar. Active radar enhancers significantly increase the possibility of detection and reduces the risk of collision. Ideal not only for smaller boats with no radar, but also on larger boats where a passive radar reflector cannot be fitted or maximum target enhancement is desired.
Echomax Active-X and Active-XS use state of the art technology to monitor radar frequencies. When they detect a signal from a transmitting radar, the signal is amplified and then returned as a stronger signal and enhanced radar target. The alarm function also notifies crew that a radar signal is being received and another vessel is in the vicinity, particularly useful on offshore passages. With power consumption of less than 25 mA in standby (detection) mode, the Active-X and Active-XS can be operated 24 hours a day without power concerns.
Available in two versions:
- Echomax Active-X - detects radar signals from X band (9.3 - 9.5GHz) radars typically found on yachts, pleasure craft, fishing boats and commercial vessels up to 3000 GT.
- Echomax Active-XS - detects radar signals from X band (9.3 - 9.5GHz) as well as S band radars typically found on commercial vessels over to 3000 GT.

Designed for 12 V systems, the Echomax Active-X and Active-XS include the active antenna, 24 m of cable and a control box for installation below decks. The control box allows the system to be turned on or off and allows the internal alarm buzzer to be turned on or off.
