Lightweight, flexible solar panels can be installed on sprayhoods, biminis and other flexible surfaces. Unfortunately constant flexing in these conditions can slowly damage the electrical connections within the panel, eventually causing failure. The SR Super Rugged series use MerlinSolar monocrystalline high efficiency SR cells. Merlin Solar’s patented technology is an innovative pair of metal grids that serve as intracell and inter-cell interconnects. The same copper and solder as any other bus bar cell, but 20 redundant lines and 180+ interconnects, not only enable to extract more power but also dramatically improve the reliability, performance and ruggedness of the solar panels. The grids essentially form a double shield that act as a conducting reinforcement. Extreme crack and bend tolerance are built in. Efficiency and unmatched durability in flexible solar panels.
Efficiency over 19% and flexible up to 25% curvature
The panels are incredibly light, the highest output 240 W panel weighs only 3 kg and is only 2 mm thick. The flexible polymer backing and multiple installation options and accessories, allow the panels to be installed almost anywhere on board. When installed on a rigid surface they can be walked on without damage.
Ideal for use on Bimini tops, covers and awnings without additional support. Can be installed with up to 25% curvature. Tried and tested in the most extreme conditions from offshore round the world racing to remote expeditions.

Due to the lower voltage of the 70 W, 80 W & 120 W panels, please check compatibility with your solar regulator.
We recommend a regulator with Boost function.
Junction Box
Panel Prices include a junction box and cables to allow connection to the solar regulator. Panels can also be supplied without a junction box with soldering ribbons (back strip connection) where a completely flush installation is required. Contact us for details.
