Charge multiple batteries or battery banks from a single alternator or charging source without connecting the batteries or battery banks together, avoiding a complete battery discharge if batteries are connected for charging and not separated when charging has finished.

The Argo Diode battery Isolators feature a low voltage drop thanks to the use of Schottky diodes. At low current the
voltage drop is approximately 0,3 V and at the rated output approximately 0,45 V. All models are fitted with a compensation diode that can be used to slightly increase the output voltage of the alternator. This compensates for the voltage drop over the diodes in the isolator.

Argo Diode battery Isolators also feature a B+ power output to avoid alternator start problems. Some alternators require DC voltage to start charging. When the alternator is connected directly to the batteries this is not a problem, but when adding a battery isolator, the alternator loses this DC power source. The new AC version Argo Diode isolators have a special current limited energize input that will power the B+ when the engine run/stop switch is closed.

Victron Energy Argo Diode

Available in 6 versions with 2 or 3 battery outputs and 80 A - 180 A alternator capacities.
